I had a hard day at work Tuesday. Every little thing seemed to go wrong. Every event seemed to make me feel less important and not needed. It was a low point.
I discovered that I wasn’t alone in having days like this and it was more common in others than I had thought.
What I offer, much like Sophie Araque-Liu illustrates in her winning Google doodle is that you don’t have to go through this alone.
There are resources (like myself) that are available in case someone just needs a sounding board to be heard, loved, and felt.
There are foods that can be consumed that can help boost the mood, like chocolate milk, dark chocolate, fatty fish like salmon and sushi.
There is at least one friend in your group that will be available in person just when you need them, to spend time with you so you know you’re not alone.
There are a multitude of books and articles to help make sense of what is being experienced and how to help you through it.
Most important of all, you have yourself. You are stronger than you think and have more help than you realize.
I did and am grateful for all of it. If you don’t think you’ve got any helpful resources, you’ve got me. Together we will get through it.
I know because I was able to do it with help from many resources. You can to.
YOU GOT THIS.
