...you're family." Sorry, Olive Garden- borrowed your slogan, but it fits like a comfortable tee.
For everyone that's been following along, I've made it to Virginia and have been spending time with my brother (which is still a great thing for me to tell people!). For those that are just joining the adventure, I have driven from the frozen tundras of the north to warmer climates to meet and finally connect with my brother!
This has been many years in the making (although we had no idea how or when) and in reconnecting with this part of the family and being blessed to discover who he is as a person, I am fortunate enough to also learn a bit more about myself. He has taught me how to enjoy life more through his actions (how he treats and talks to everyone), his outlook on life, and in sharing his dreams and bucket list.
We seem to have a lot in common as we share a love of craft beers, supporting local businesses, recognizing the importance of being a friend to everyone, and staying curious. Oh and we share a spirit of adventure (but that goes without saying!)
I am grateful he took the initial steps and sent a letter to me that started the introductions and eventual meeting!
I'm extremely proud of him and what's he's accomplished in life so far.
I can't thank him enough for the hospitality he has shown in being such a gracious host by taking me around to his favorite places, sharing the back story, letting me meet the people in his everyday life and sharing his home.
Love you brother and looking forward to the time I can return the favor (hint hint!)
